Curry Leaves /Karuvepillai Chutney

Ingredients:

  1. Curry leaves-1 cup.
  2. Urad dhal-3tsp.
  3. Tamarind-small ball.
  4. Asafoetida-a pinch
  5. Salt-As req
  6. Red chilly-2 Nos

For Tempering :

  1. Mustard seeds-1 tsp.
  2. Oil -for tempering-1 tsp.
  3. Urad dhal-1/2 tsp.

METHOD:

  1. In a Pan add oil and add oorid dhal ,red chilly ,tamrind and fry till it turns golden colour.
  2. Keep that aside and in the same pan add the curry leaves and fry for 1 min.
  3. Allow it to cool and grind everythin in a blender with some water.
  4. Now for tempering, add oil in a pan, after it is heated add mustard seeds and allow it to pop.
  5. Then  add oorid dahl and asefotida .
  6. Add this to the chutney.
  7. Delicious highly healthy chutney is ready to serve.
  8. It tastes good with Idly ,Dosa etc.
