Spring Onion Kootu

Ingredients:
  1. Spring Onion-1 cup chopped.
  2. Channa Dahl-3/4 cup.
  3. Garlic pods-5.
  4. Cumin -1 tbsp.
  5. Salt-As req.
  6. Cumin powder-1 tbsp.
  7. Onion-1.
  8. Grated coconut-1/4 cup.
  9. Oil-For tempering.
  10. Red chilly-2.

Method:
  1. In a Pan add oil, Temper cumin and chilly.
  2. Then add chopped onion and fry it then add spring onion and fry it until it shrinks.
  3. Cook channa dhal for 3 whistles. Mash it and add it to the Pan.
  4. Add salt, cumin powder, coconut to that.
  5. Then cook it for 1 min. Kootu is ready to serve.
Tip:
I never throw away the roots of the spring onion.
Spring onion is one of the easiest growing vegetables. we can just grow with the bottom part of the spring onion after cooking.
For growing spring onion we don't even need soil.
Just add the roots to a container quarterly filled with water. just change the water once or twice within a week
It will grow in just one week time. The process of growing vegetable in water is called Hydroponics.
