Milagu (Pepper)kuzhambu/ Pathiya kuzhambu

 Ingredients:

  1. Black Pepper- 3 Tsp.
  2. Jeera seeds/cumin seeds-1 Tsp.
  3. Garlic-10-15 cloves.
  4. Vegetables like Drumstick, Beans (Avaraikaai), Brinjal-1 cup (Anyone vegetable).
  5. Salt-As req.
  6. Water -2 cups.
  7. Curry leaves-few 
  8. Rice flour-1/2 tsp.
  9. Gingely oil-2 tsp.
For Seasoning:
  1. Mustard Seeds
  2. Urad dhal
  3. Cumin seeds
  4. Curry Leaves



Method :

1.In a Pan dry roast Pepper and cumin seeds for 1 -2 mins.
2.Grind it in a Mixie  coarsely.
3.Now in the same pan add gingely oil and add Galic,curry leaves, fry it for few mins.
4.Then add the chopped vegetables to it.
5.Add the Powdered pepper cumin powder to the pan.
6.Add water to it and allow it to boil for 10 mins in simmer.
7.If u want u can add more water add salt.
8.After the vegetables cooked u can add a small amount of rice flour to thicken the consistency of the Kuzhambu.
 9.Pathiya kuzhambu is Ready to serve and it tastes good with white rice and Ghee.

Note:
This recipe is usually given after delivery for recovering and it will increase lactation.
Traditionally this recipe is given for breastfeeding mom's for lactation and recovering from delivery.
It's good for health when you take it after oil bath. 
You must add some Ghee/Gingely oil for the taste enhancement and reduce the spicy taste of Pepper.
If you make the powder ready at weekends, you can make the kuzhambu in a jiffy. It goes well with simple Appalam/ Papad...
This is a very simple postpartum recipe. The spices we use regularly have good medicinal values.. Knowing the values or unknowingly, we have a practice of using the spices.. If given after delivery this is meant to cure stomach ulcers, intestinal strains and this will increase breast milk.. Not only the new mother, we also can include this in our weight loss diet.. Including some medicinal and healthy recipes will make us lose more weight..

Crunchy Butter Biscuits / Wheat Biscuits

Ingredients: Wheat flour - 1 cup Powdered sugar and Brown sugar - 3/4th cup Butter - 2 tbsp Cardamoms -2 powdered. Milk - as required. Baking powder - 1 pinch. Baking Soda -1 pinch. Method: Mix all ingredients and knead well like chapatti batter. Roll it with a rolling pin and cut it in desired shapes. Kids will love to do that with a cookie cutter or we can use lids. Or simply make small balls and arrange it in a plate with 1 inch gaps. (So that the biscuits have some space to expand) Keep it in the oven at 200C for 35 mins. You will know, when to take it out with its wonderful smell. Healthy, Easy, tasty and crunchy biscuits are ready. You can keep it in the air tight container for weeks!
