POWDERS TO MAKE AT HOME FOR BABIES


SPICES POWDER



1.Jeera powder-seeraga podi(dry roast and grind)

2.Coriander powder-malli podi (dry roast and grind )

3.Pepper powder-melagu thool(dry roast and grind )

4.Cardomom powder and nutmeg+cinnamon powder (jaathikaai+pattai powder) –ADD these in pancakes or kanjis/Porridges

5.Peanuts powder(verkadalai powder )

6.Nuts powder-Badam +cashew+pista (dry roast and grind)

7.Walnuts powder (Don't add in iron-rich food )

8.Zinc seeds powder- Pumpkin seeds+sesame seeds(black ellu/Till seeds)+ kirni seeds/Melon seeds +watermelon seeds +vealari seeds (Each 10 g –Dry roast and grind )

9.Black ellu powder
Black ellu-/sesame seeds- 1cup
Ulundhu/oorid dhal-2 tbsp
Kadala paruppu/ channa dhal-2 tbsp
Perungaayam/Asefotida -1/4 tsp
Red chilli-1/2 or pepper -1/2 tsp
Jaggery or vellam-1 tbsp

Dry roast separately ellu,ulundhu and kadala paruppu.Add spices and grind and store in airtight container. Add nallennai/gingely oil with rice and add this powder and mix and feed babies

Crunchy Butter Biscuits / Wheat Biscuits

Ingredients: Wheat flour - 1 cup Powdered sugar and Brown sugar - 3/4th cup Butter - 2 tbsp Cardamoms -2 powdered. Milk - as required. Baking powder - 1 pinch. Baking Soda -1 pinch. Method: Mix all ingredients and knead well like chapatti batter. Roll it with a rolling pin and cut it in desired shapes. Kids will love to do that with a cookie cutter or we can use lids. Or simply make small balls and arrange it in a plate with 1 inch gaps. (So that the biscuits have some space to expand) Keep it in the oven at 200C for 35 mins. You will know, when to take it out with its wonderful smell. Healthy, Easy, tasty and crunchy biscuits are ready. You can keep it in the air tight container for weeks!
