Kashayam for cold and cough-Home remedies

Ingredients:

1.Pepper-1 tbsp
2.Cumin seeds/Jeera-1 tbsp.
3.Dry Ginger/Sukku- 1 tbsp
4.Sitharathai/Alpinia galanga-1 inch /Powdered 1 tbsp
5.Coriander seeds/Daniya seeds-1 tsp.
6.Jaggery/Palm jaggery-1 tsp.
7.Water-500ml.

Method:

1.Dry roast pepper, Cumin seeds, Coriander seeds in a pan for a minute and keep aside .
2.Dry roast powdered dry ginger and powdered Sitharathai for a minute.
3. Blend all the roasted ingredients to a coarse powder.
4. In a pan boil water and add the prepared coarse powder, jaggery/palm jaggery and allow it to boil for 15 mins or until it reduces to 300 ml.
5. Filter the decoction and drink.
It is highly useful for cold and cough relief.
